Race Foundation Transforms Model Primary School, Ndunwali
In a remarkable effort to improve education in the community, the Race Foundation, with the support of the Altar Servers of Seelsorgeeinheit Heiligkreuzsteinach, embarked on a significant school renovation project at Model Primary School, Ndunwali. The project, aimed at addressing the school’s dilapidated condition, included the repair of floors, provision of 25 pews (each seating 4 pupils), 2 tables, and other essential items to enhance learning conditions.
The handover event was a joyous occasion as pupils, teachers, and village representatives gathered at the school premises to welcome members of the Race Foundation. The excitement was palpable as the much-needed improvements were unveiled, marking a new chapter for the school.
During the presentation of the items, Fr. Philip Uguru, a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Race Foundation, outlined the organization’s mission. He emphasized that the project was part of the foundation’s broader goal to identify and nurture talents in the community. He encouraged the pupils to work hard and strive to become ambassadors of the foundation, as the school has been designated as a center for talent identification and development under the foundation’s Smart Lab Project.
Ms. Lilian Chioma Njoku, another representative of the foundation, appealed to the teachers to utilize the donated materials effectively to improve the quality of education. She also expressed deep gratitude to the chairman of the BoT for his relentless efforts in making the project a reality.
Fr. Dr. Felix Uche Akam commended the strategic allocation of resources by the Race Foundation to ensure maximum impact. He expressed sincere appreciation to the parishioners and altar servers of Seelsorgeeinheit Heiligkreuzsteinach for their invaluable support, without which the project would not have been possible.
The village head, Chief Ndubisi Ogodo, praised the Race Foundation for its numerous interventions in the community, which include two water projects, road construction, and charity outreach programs. He highlighted how these efforts have contributed significantly to the development of the village and thanked the foundation for its commitment.
Responding on behalf of the school, PTA chairman Mr. Boniface Nwibo assured the Race Foundation that the donated items would be carefully maintained and monitored to ensure they achieve their intended purpose. He reiterated the school’s commitment to leveraging the support to improve the educational experience of the pupils.
The Race Foundation’s intervention at Model Primary School, Ndunwali, has not only provided immediate relief in terms of infrastructure but has also laid the foundation for long-term development. By identifying the school as a center for nurturing raw talents, the foundation aims to integrate these pupils into its digital transformation initiatives, empowering them for the future.
